Hi, I’m Sophie
Project manager. Parent. An expatriate based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn't in the cards for our long-term plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more intricate than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the job. Over time, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Vyvra Lenor Osut
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow travel content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap—practical guidance grounded in real life in Netherlands.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored-review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Netherlands goes on, and the learning process continues. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, please feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sophie
